Ben Dacoba is a multi-talented, multi-instrumental musician from Great Falls, Virginia. He began playing drums at the age of 14 when he asked for a drum set for Christmas. Soon after he formed a rock band with friends and went on to play in various local venues and recording through out high school. As he became more involved with music he studied drums and percussion with Keith Johns for three years. As he grew as a musician he became more and more involved and interested in the technical side of music delving into recording and setting up live sound. After finishing high school, Ben decided to study music at Columbia College in Chicago. Since being at school he has formed a Funk/R&B band called Shaggwell with fellow Chicago area musicians and has played with many other local bands around town. He is currently studying with Chicago based musician Frank Donaldson and is inspired by drummers such as Don Brewer, John Bonham, & Kenny Aronoff. Including his various roles of percussion, drums, singing and songwriting within Shaggwell, Ben has since
been apart of many different regional acts gigging all around the Virginia and Chicago areas as well as being apart of many recording sessions and looks to leave his mark in the music industry.
